American Idol winner David Cook will be performing The Last Goodbye
off his new album, This Loud Morning, hitting the stores tomorrow.

David Cook won the American Idol title during the 7th season, 2008.  David Archuletta was the runner up.  Of course Ryan Seacrest had to draw the announcement out, saying, "and the winner of American Idol is David....."  lol

Trivia:  David wasn't going to try out for American Idol, his brother Andrew was with David's support.  David did audition from a little push from family and friends, and the rest is history.

David started wearing an orange band during the top 12 week of American Idol to support a 7 year old fan, Lindsey Rose who has leukemia.  He continues to wear this band today.

Just after American Idol, David broke all kinds of records, including having 11 songs debut on the Hot 100, beating the previous record of Miley Cyrus who had 6 songs debut on the chart.

Along with his American Idol title, in 2008 he won the Best Reality/Variety Star award, and in 2009 the top 40 male artist of the year.

And as you probably know, it's David Cook you hear when we bid farewell to an unlucky American Idol wannabe, singing Don't You Forget About Me.

Another great artist performing this week is Katy Perry!  She'll be performing E.T. (featuring Kanye West) from her album Teenage Dreams!  And a little birdie told me Kanye West might also make an appearance!

I just learned that she grew  up listening to only gospel music, and she sang in her church as a child.  Nothing bad at all against gospel music, but Katy Perry???  lol

Her single I Kissed a Girl, which really put her on the track to fame, also topped the international charts.

Katy also has her share of awards.  ;)  International Female Artist award, Best Female Video award, Best Pop Video award, and Video of the Year all in 2009.  Just to name a few.

And of course we all know she married Russell Brand in October 2010.

I for one cannot wait to see both performances this week on the American Idol results show!
