Idol | Banned Arrested Song Spoilers Yeah!

American Idol is a popular singing competition that some have said turned into a popularity contest. With ratings falling, stories of one getting banned, another getting arrested, and the crazy song spoilers for this week just might boost the shows appeal.

One Got Banned!

Yes, if you haven’t heard, you can probably guess which one got banned from American Idol. David Archuleta’s dad, Jeff, has been banned from backstage on American Idol. He can sit in the audience, but he is not allowed anywhere else. Jeff Archuleta got himself banned when he changed the lyrics to “Stand By Me,” the song David Archuleta sang last Tuesday, according to The Associated Press. Jeff changed the lyrics even after Producers of the show warned him not to. Now Jeff is in hot water with American Idol’s lawyers saying that stunt cost the show a lot of money. Are you still claiming not to be the dad from Hades, Jeff?

One Got Arrested!

You might remember Colin Leahy from season 3 of American Idol. He was the one who compared himself to Clay Aiken, as they were both camp counselors. Colin was arrested after he was caught sending inappropriate text messages to young boys, some as young as 10 years old. The American Idol contestants are singing 3 songs this week. One song will be chosen by the Idol contestants, another song will be chosen by the Idol judges, and the third song will be chosen by the American Idol producers. Some of the song choices have been revealed and they are as follows: David Cook chose “The World I Know” by Collective Soul for himself. Simon Cowell chose “First Time Ever I Saw Your Face” by Roberta Flack. I hope he changes that last one up a bit! Syesha Mercado will be singing “If I Ain’t Got You” by Alicia Keys; Randy Jackson chose this for her. David Archuleta will be singing “And So It Goes” by Billy Joel which Paula Abdul chose for him.
