American Idol Double Dees Go Triple Rounds

It was the battle of the double Dees last night on American Idol. Double Dees meaning David Cook and David Archuleta just as the judges and producers “predicted.” When I think American Idol cannot possibly get worse, it does. I watch American Idol to be entertained not insulted. The David finale was ridiculous. From Clive Davis’ song choice for David Cook to the biased comments from the judges, American Idol wants what they want, and they want David Archuleta to win.

American Idol Most Ridiculous Moment

Ryan said something along the lines that the American Idol crown was for champions. To drive that statement home 3 American Idol champions flashed on the screen. Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, and… Chris Daughtry? Yes, Chris Daughtry is a champion, but he wasn’t crowned the American Idol, Taylor Hicks won that year.

May The Best Man Win!

Round 1 David Cook sang “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For” and he did what he could. Love the song, but it was a poor song choice for Cookie.

• Randy said what a great way to start off this duel of 2007(?) Are we sharing Paula’s sippy cup again Randy?
• Paula said we have found our David Cook.
• Simon thought David looked tense and emotional and he thought that was phenomenal. I wonder what he meant by that?

David Archuleta sang “Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me” and it was boring as usual.

• Randy said he had crazy vocals.
• Paula said she has chills. Careful Paula, he is a minor.
• Simon said last week was ok; tonight was the best.

Round 2 David Cook sang “Dream Big” and he did a decent job with what he had to work with.

• Randy said he was singing his face off.
• Paula said we fell in love with the song.
• Simon said the end was ok; he gives him 6 ½ out of 10.

David Archuleta sang “In This Moment” and again, he didn’t knock my socks off.

• Randy said the song wasn’t crazy but you’re in the zone singing the phonebook or something like that.
• Paula said he was on fire.
• Simon said he loved the egotistical song choice.

Round 3 David Cook sang “The World I Know” and I thought something is definitely going on with David tonight; he is very emotional.

• Randy said it showed a lot of different sides to David Cook; very nice job dude.
• Paula said I truly applaud you David Cook.
• Simon said he wants to publicly say that David is the most sincere and nicest contestants they have ever had. Ok, now I know something is wrong with David Cook tonight.

David Archuleta sang “Imagine” again. Nothing new here.

• Randy said this is exactly what this show is about; finding the best singer. Ok, Randy, let me remind you again about the Chris Daughtry/Taylor Hicks fiasco.
• Paula said it was stunning.
• Simon said he came out here to win tonight and we just witnessed a knockout. Enough with the boxing lingo!

Well, another American Idol season has reached its end. The battle of the Double Dees is over and we can only “wonder” who will be crowned American Idol.
