I just read a post about American Idol finalist Scotty McCreery that made my jaw drop.

The gist of it is, "Country Music" doesn't want Scotty McCreery.  Granted, the post is on examiner.com, but if these DJ's really said this, they have no point being in the entertainment business.

You can read all about American Idol Scotty McCreery from the not so smart DJ's here.

Norman Byrd, who looks like his shorts are a bit too small, is the blog writer.  He claims he's talked to "all" the DJ's and NONE of them want Scotty.

Now, my question is, if you are a legitimate DJ, and you know the fan base Scotty has, whether you like him or not, wouldn't you jump on the band wagon and reap from his popularity?

Obviously, not these dimwits.  Some of them have said:

Phyllis Stark at "Stark Country" has reported, not everyone is as enamored by Scotty as are all those little girls "American Idol" viewers have heard screaming in the live audience.

Buzz Jackson, program director for KIIM in Tucson, Arizona, said, "Scotty hasn't demonstrated that he can be anything but creepy."

Tonie-Marie, programmer for KUZZ in Bakersfield, home of that guitar driven country sound made famous by Merle Haggard and Buck Owens (and kept alive by Dwight Yoakum), went on a rant.

"I’m calling in sick the day they bring Scotty by on radio tour... I wish people would quit comparing this kid to Josh Turner. He attempts to sound like him, but the only thing he is successful at is looking like the kid on MAD magazines . . . Maybe Scotty does have some potential. I don’t see it, but he needs someone to teach him to be who Scotty is. Quit doing JT covers and doing that weird eye thing that only Queen Reba can get away with.”

It would appear that all the Scotty haters out there -- and you know there are millions of them -- have company in the industry.  And in positions where they control what gets played on the radio.  Not a good sign for someone trying to get started in the country music business.
Phyllis, Buzz, Tonie and obviously the one who couldn't back their statement with a name, are apparently the Dimwit's.

Buzz even calls Scotty creepy.  Tonie needs to not only call in sick, but quit her job because she is not in touch with reality, nor does she want her radio station to make any money.

I'm not saying Scotty McCreery is the best thing since sliced bread, but he's good, and he has a huge fan base.  I hope these DJ's learn a lesson when they get fired.

Anyway, Scotty and Lauren are in the American Idol finale and I'm happy they're both there.
